Welcome to 2019!
As co-chair of the IAB Adops committee, I wanted to start posting recaps of what is discussed during our bi-monthly meetings scheduled at the IAB offices and over the phone. The most recent one occurred on February 6 in the afternoon at their new offices located at 111 Peter St. We had a few members come in despite the storm while some also called in. Jennifer Chan (Rogers) has been co-chair for a couple of years, I came in replacing Katrina Santos (Bell) while she moved over to co-chair the IAB video committee. How to join this group will be provided at the bottom of this post.
First item on the agenda: JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!
With recent layoffs happening in the market at Mediative, Buzzfeed, Verizon (Oath/Yahoo/AOL), and others, it’s very important to list the different resources we have in the industry to help the company who need to hire folks and those looking for jobs.
If you have any opening or are looking for a job, please reach out to us on Facebook to this group:

The admin group are the same folks from within the TAO group, please answer the intro questions for prompt approval.
Another resource for IAB members for job posting can be found here:

Second item: Flex ads
Some members are running tests on flexitive creative so that they can render to allocated sizes across different placements on publishers. Paul Vincent (Neuranet), Eugene Lim (eyeReturn) and Erwin Orriell (OMG) are running tests to see how it appears on reports and how they appear on mWeb/Desktop environments.
Third item: Other IAB committee collaboration
A few issues impacting various committees was discussed at this point, specifically how to buy more mobile, collab between agency and mobile committees. Throughout the meeting, issues like ITP, VAST 4.1 implementation, OMSDK, DigiTrust, DAAST (audio vast tags) were brought up and this will be brought up with other committees as this will impact many of us.
Last item: Vast 4.1
There’s a push in the industry to adopt VAST 4.1, however a few roadblock hinders it as publishers need to implement this first so that we traffickers in the adops/programmatic world can target this inventory. Some agencies are still sending Vast 2.0 tags so we need to collaborate with other IAB committees to push this new tech. Impressions verification services like IAS/MOAT and DV still VPAID wrap their Vast 2.0 tags so that it can work for mobile users in inAPP environments.
